As a new Freshman, going to Biggie was such an exciting experience. The night started with a trip to Whataburger with my sister, Jessie, while it was raining. When we left, we saw a big bright rainbow in the sky, which we stopped to admire, and then we headed for Biggie.
When we got there, we were towards the back of the line because there were so many people there so early, but we ended up still getting some pretty good seats on the third row. Everyone was dressed in nice clothes or in their best 90’s outfits, which was a great combination that you would probably see nowhere else on this earth. The stage band (which played a 90’s song between almost every performance) was fantastic and were also dressed in some great 90’s clothing. Each performance, skit, and video was so awesome and everyone seemed to love every bit of the night. During one of the songs the stage band played, all of the students in the audience pulled out their phones, turned the flashlight on and began to wave them slowly in the air, to the beat of the music. That was a wonderful sight to see and to be a part of.
During Biggie I got to see so many talented people perform and act in skits. I began to realize that I go to school with all these people who were on stage. It is so cool and almost overwhelming knowing that there are so many talented students at this school. But the best part about it is also knowing that the performers in Biggie were only a small fraction of the many talented at OBU.
Overall, I had a fantastic time at Backstreet Biggie and I can not wait for the one next year (and also Freshman Follies, which are coming soon)! Thank you to all who put such hard work into Biggie to make it something very special.
OBU Students: you are awesome and God has given you all wonderful talents, so keep up the good work God is doing through you!
