Rather than us telling you what OBU is like, hear from those who are living the experience now.

College is weird because, is OBU your home or is your house home? Staying at OBU on the weekends can create some awesome and insane memories and make OBU home!!

You can stay in Shawnee for the weekend but still leave the area with your friends to go to Tulsa or OKC! A girls night to downtown Tulsa or a guys night to Top Golf will be something unforgettable and make the college experience so fulfilling.

For instance, staying here means meeting up with friends and doing spontaneous things like going to Norman to the Baked Bear at 10pm or driving to Bricktown and going to Fuzzy’s! I know people who go home on the weekend and I wish they would know how much they are missing out on. While going home is always refreshing and a momma hug is needed, staying here and creating memories is what makes college so much fun!!

Taking pictures and posting on snapchat is what this generation is all about! In the following weekends I want to personally encourage you to stay here and get a group together to do SOMETHING. Below I have given a list of fun ideas and they even go in order from cheap to more expensive!

  5. Go to the lake
  6. Hammock
  7. Volunteer
  8. GO TO THE PUMPKIN PATCH!!
  9. Have a movie night with snacks and bottles of Coke or Root Beer
  10. Bake brownies, cookies, cake balls, or cupcakes!
  11. Make a full dinner
  12. Go to Goodwill!!
  13. Go rollerblading
  14. Go bowling
  15. Go to Top Golf
  16. Go get a Pizookie at BJ’s
  17. Go to a coffee shop in Tulsa
  18. Go to Norman and eat at Ted’s!!
  19. Go to OKC and walk around Bricktown
  20. Go to a Thunder game

Okay…so these might soouuunndd lame, but I promise there’s such fun in making memories with the people you care about. So this weekend or next..stay here in Shawnee and get a group of friends to hang out!

When you take the time to stay in Shawnee and get involved with the community and the people around you, OBU will be home.
