Taylor Hanska: Being Involved is Important

College is what you make it, so why not make a difference on your campus? One of my favorite things I have done at OBU, is being a part of several different organizations. This allows you to not only make a difference, but also meet new people that you may have never met otherwise. There are so many different organizations at OBU that allow students to be involved, make a difference, and do what they love, whatever that may be! During my time at OBU, I have participated in the Student Government Association, Kappa Phi Beta social club, and the University Concert Series. Through these organizations, I have been able to be a part of big things on campus and make some lifelong friendships.
I know my college experience would not have been the same if it weren’t for the organizations I’m involved in. I have had many opportunities to lead and gain experience in the field I want to go into post college. It is a great way to grow in what you love to do, gain leadership experience, and experiences on campus that can build great connections. I would highly encourage everyone to get involved in at least one organization or volunteer in the Shawnee community. You only have four years at OBU, make them count!
